Landlady Ann Arney was born and bred in the village of Hawkesbury Upton and has resided at the Fox since August 2006.
Ann and her partner Colin Stainer are very much country people coming from farming and game keeping backgrounds and are determined to keep the Fox as a traditional country pub, as we hope you can see from the ‘Fox’s Forties Farmhouse Favorites’ section on the menu. It is one of the few country pubs that still has a public bar with pool, darts and a skittles alley and dogs are welcome in this bar.
The Lounge bar is slightly more formal but still has a relaxed and friendly atmosphere with a log fire burning all day during the cold months. After only a few months we were nominated and accepted to be included in the CAMRA guide, an achievement we are very proud of. We aim to offer three ales from breweries within a 10 / 15 mile radius. Uley bitter is always available, the other two change regularly. The Fox is an ideal venue to stop off for lunch if you are walking The Cotswold Way or any of the other superb walks around Hawkesbury Upton. We can provide homemade soup and rolls or sandwiches on a Sunday Lunchtime but we do need at least two days notice, more if possible.
We hope you will visit us soon. Ann
